Description

The project aims to increase the nutritional and economic self-sufficiency of the communities living in Kilifi district, on the east coast of Kenya. Despite high agricultural potential, this coastal region struggles with 68,5% poverty rate and malnutrition. Main cause of poverty and malnutrition is low income from agricultural activities. The project strategy entails: increasing the economic efficiency in agricultural activities, introduction of alternative livelihoods and increased protection of natural resources through participatory community management.
