Description

The emerging civil society in Tunisia has an important role to play in sustaining the country’s political transition. However, as it is the case in many countries in transition from an oppressive political regime, the civil society is in its early stages of organizational, ideological and content related development. Therefore, there is a lot of need in the areas of capacity building - organizational and structural, as well as in specific areas of content, advocacy, promotion of broad public discussion, and participation of the civil society in the decision making processes.

The core of the project lies in the transfer of the experience, knowledge and best practices from the process of transition to democracy, process of building of a vibrant civil society and establishment of a functioning mechanisms of consultation and cooperation between the state and the non-state actors in Slovakia and other countries with similar experience.
