Description
The applicant of the project co-financing will contribute to the already extensive ongoing health programs of partner humanitarian organizations MedAir. Through this project we will provide health care for conflict-affected populations in Iraq, which will contribute to the stabilization and improvement of living conditions. The application for the grant is designed to provide an important and expected participation in the ongoing health program. The project will provide humanitarian assistance through the hospital personnel, access to basic health care and medicines, which fills the sectoral and territorial priorities Humanitarian Aid. The number of aid beneficiaries is estimated at 39,984, of which 51% are children 0-17 years, 42% of adults 18-49 years and 7% of the elderly population over 50 years. Through the improvement of the general health of this vulnerable group, through its training and improving knowledge on health and nutrition, including the prevention of easy-prone diseases it will be strengthened by the resilience of the group at potential risk for health in the future. Conflict-affected areas face the shortage of doctors and low professional level of medical workers, and therefore in the project gives priority to the development of medical staff, increase their skills and capacity building. It is expected that the number of people at risk will increase and most displaced will gather just in Ninewa and Kirkuk, where they intend to operate.
