The volunteer will assist the local staff in tuition, extracurricular activities and institutional development of Vocational Training Institute in Kyabakadde, Uganda. The volunteer will assist local teachers; will share the new approaches and methodology in the field of formal and non-formal education. When preparing and implementing extracurricular activities, methodology, the volunteer will utilise good practices in youth work of Slovak NGOs. There is high demand for additional assistance in teaching of ICT. Host organisation VICODE opened a new carpentry course in 2020, where the volunteer will set up the marketing strategy, sales and in case of any practical experience in this field, the volunteer could help in the teaching process as well. Training institute needs to diversify the income source in order to be financially self-reliant. Therefore, the host organisation would welcome the capacity building and external assistance in area of institutional and individual fundraising. To ensure the processes are put in place effectively, VICODE has requested 2 volunteers for the period of 12 months. During their stay, they will hand over their roles to the local personnel.
