Description
Excluded marginalized communities in Serbia are assisted by state social care centres, but also in the form of individual donorship or scholarships. However, a structural and systematic approach, even in the context of the need for humanitarian aid, still faces obstacles. In reality, the socio-economic situation of the Roma is deteriorating compared to the majority, poverty is present in smaller communities and unemployment is exacerbating their economic crisis. Since its beginnings, Merhamet Sandzak has focused on the social and economic inclusion of marginalized groups. At first, by simply mediating various aid instruments, over time, it has built a strategic approach to aid. It has enabled people to learn, qualify and acquire the skills, knowledge and competences needed to improve their inclusion in society. The deployment of the volunteer will focus on the organizational support of the team so that it can further develop the organization's systematic approach to inclusion. The volunteer will be involved in team capacity building in fundraising and grant areas to provide Merhamet with resources to implement inclusive interventions in local communities.
