The volunteer will act as a nursing doctor in Korr, which belongs to the local Salezians of Don Bosco, Marsabit. The area is also characterized by frequent occurrences of malaria, tuberculosis, infectious diseases or respiratory problems, and cases of HIV-positive people are also reported. The health center has a maternity and a daily stationary. However, there is no presence of a doctor. This position should be taken over by Volunteer Anna for one year. Volunteer Anna will be acting as general practitioner all year long on this nursing home. One day a week will be dedicated to mothers with children who regularly come to a counseling center and get valuable advice on child screening. Emphasis is also placed on a nutrition counseling, as many children in Korr and the surrounding area suffer from malnutrition.
