Description
The overall objective of the project is the improvement of health condition of the population of Joska rural area with special focus on mothers and children by provision of quality health care services including prevention. Such goal will be fulfilled through the following steps: 1. Decrease of morbidity of the local population as well as the rate of child and maternal mortality in Joska area 2. Improved access to education for physically handicapped children. Implementation of the proposed project builds on the already existing St. Philip Neri Primary School (supported by SAMRS/2015/1/1). The project will try to solve the critical insufficiencies in terms of available health care services in the area. The target audience is the following: 1. Joska population (especially children and mothers) in need of treatment at the clinic or in need of vaccination. 2. Pupils of Philip Neri Elementary School. 3. Physically handicapped children from the area. The following results are expected after the project completion (24 months): 1.1. Operating health clinic with an antenatal department will provide health care services to 30,400 patients. 1.2. Increased awareness on child and maternal mortality, fight against HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases among 4,800 members of the local community 2.1 30 physically handicapped will be integrated not only into the education process but also into the local community. In addition, 1,200 members of the local community attend lectures on the importance of the integration of physically handicapped.
